David Lin, owner of Lin Outdoor Living, didn’t start out in landscaping, but his journey to creating stunning outdoor spaces has been anything but ordinary. Growing up in Sahuarita, he attended Sahuarita High School’s Pima County JTED auto mechanic program while learning how to speak English and earned an Automotive Mechanics certification from Pima Community College, gaining hands-on experience with motors and mechanical systems. This technical foundation later expanded into plumbing and handyman skills that became essential in his waterscape projects.

 

In 2020, during the pandemic slowdown at his other business,  a Chinese restaurant in Green Valley Arizona, David turned his creativity to his own backyard. He built a water feature, installed paver, turf, gazebo, and outdoor kitchen for his family, transforming their home into a private oasis. What began as a personal project quickly drew attention, with neighbors and homeowners requesting his expertise to design ponds and water features for their own yards.

This passion led to the creation of Lin’s Pond Design, which evolved into Lin Outdoor Living by January 2024. Licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC 349539) and became a certified Aquascape Pond Contractor , David expanded the company’s offerings beyond ponds to include turf, pavers, and full backyard transformations turning ordinary yards into extraordinary outdoor retreats, where nature meets tranquility.
